Elfen Lied

Preview
ADV is set to release Elfen Lied volume 1 on May 17th, their next title which brings extreme violence to your TV. This show is more violent than Gantz (from what I've seen so far) and so far I am enjoying it more too, but not because of the violence.

The way the show starts off is really eye catching. There is a girl, who is referred to as Luci by this organization, tied up in the middle of a room. She is a mutant called a diclonious, and she breaks free from the chains and begins to escape the complex completely naked except for a mask-like restraint that conceals her face. Groups of armed security forces meet her in the halls in an attempt to stop her from escaping.

However, she cuts them all down with ease. The gaurds unload all their bullets on her but it doesn't affect her one bit. She kills the secretary who jus happens to fall down in front of her and then thrusts the pen she had through another's head. She then blows a hole out of an unlucky guy's chest which flings his heart into the lap of a another gaurd as it beats its last. Just as she is about to make her escape, however, she is sniped in the head, her mask is shattered and she falls into the ocean.

Kota and his cousin Yuka find Luci on the beach. She is acting different than she did before, almost like a child and the only word she seems to know is "Nyu." An assault team is sent after her because she is too dangerous in public, but Luci takes them down as well. So they decide to fight fire with fire and send out Nana, another female diclonious younger than Luci, but who is loyal to this organization. What happens remains to be seen.

The story is very interesting, I can't wait to find out more about the diclonious and just how everything is gong to play out. I kept wondering what was going to happen next, and even now I am dying to see the next episode. May 17th can't come soon enough.
