Review
Fly Me to Polaris starts out quite charming; about a relationship between Autumn, a nurse (Cecilia Cheung), and her blind-mute patient, Onion (Richie Ren). They both have feelings for each other, but seem too shy to confess their love. Even though they are not "officially" in a relationship, the two have some great moments together, and make for a very likable couple.

(Spoiler warning) But when things seem to be going really well, Onion is suddenly killed when hit by a car. This is where a fantasy element is introduced. After dying Onion finds himself in Polaris (heaven). To his luck, he is the 60th billion person in Polaris, and he is granted one wish. He chooses to go back to Earth for a few days to be with the one he loves. From here, the movie becomes much more dramatic and has the ability to pull at your heart strings. Due to some heavenly rules, Onion is given a different body and is not allowed to tell Autumn who he really is, creating some nice dramatic tension.

Will they be able to share their feelings for each other before Onion has to go back to Polaris? There are some good emotional scenes in the film, showing them regretting that they never had a chance to tell the other and realizing just how much they miss one another. It all leads up to a very satisfying ending. I highly recommend Fly Me to Polaris to those who enjoy a good romance movie.
