Review Leung Chan (Yuen Biao) is becoming known as the unbeatable street brawler. However, he doesn't know that his wealthy father has been paying his opponents to lose to him. His father was just trying to keep his son safe, but when Leung meets Yee-Tai who refuses to be paid off he realizes what has been going on.
The Prodigal Son has some great kung fu fights and funny comedy. The fight scenes are quick and brutal. I liked Sammo Hung's lengthly appearance as a kung fu master, as he provides much of the comedy in the second half of the movie. The plot is typical kung fu stuff just to setup the action and comedy. Fans of the genre will no doubt want to see this movie, but it doesn't offer much to anyone else. I enjoyed it.
Overall:

Language A small amount of profanity.
Violence There are a few violent scenes involving some bloody throat slitting, spitting of blood, and stabbings. As well as your general kung fu beat ups.
