Review Making another leap in time as usual, Mai encounters her friend Konami once again, who is still the same age Mai is. She soon founds out that it's not really Konmami, but her daughter and she doesn't want anything to do with friendship. This is because her mom, Konami, was abandoned by her best friend, Mai, when she was her age. Konami's daughter finally finds out the truth, that Mai was that friend her mom lost, and runs to Mai's house to apologize to her for acting so cruelly, only to find an empty plot of land. Ai later finds a popotan that tells the girls that the woman a popotan showed them a few destinations back wants to see them. Mea has protected other travelers who have undergone the same journey in the past and knows that once the sisters meet this woman the will have to make some tough choices. Believing that they aren't ready for this test, she attempts to protect the girls by fighting against the "guide" who has orders to take the sisters to the woman at their next time jump. She doesn't win, but I like the fact that she tried to protect them. When the girls arrive there, she offers to let them continue their journey or finally end it and go back to the place and time where they were the happiest. The show never answers why the girls are on the journey, instead it focuses on the effects the journey has had on the sisters. By constantly making leaps in time, the girls make new acquaintances but are forced to leave them soon after. Overall, I was pretty happy with this series with its fun, likeable characters, large amounts of fanservice and its combination of silly and heartwarming scenes. It's something you can just kick back and enjoy because it's nothing too deep, has a simple story and a lot of fluff. Popotan is an enjoyable little series. Extras
