Popotan vol. 1

Review
Popotan is a story of three sisters in search of a flower called popotan. Each episode introduces a new side character for an episodic story since they don't spend much time looking for the popotan. Their house, which is decorated as if it were Christmas everyday, transports to a new location at the end of each episode so the sisters can continue their search.

A young boy attempts to enter their house to get pictures of ghosts since he believed the place was haunted. He finds the sisters living there and the girls help him take fake ghost pictures inside their house so he can show them to the kids at school. This episode is mostly focused on the oldest sister, Ai.

Mai transfered to a new school again since since they are always moving and a girl in her class is befriending her. But since Mai is constantly moving around she always ends up getting hurt because she must leave her friends behind. I thought the episode was well done and was the only one that seemed to really go anywhere.

Mii is the youngest of the sisters who is obsessed with magical girls and everything puffy. She buys a magical girl outfit and goes accross town trying to help people in need. She comes accross Miyuki, a girl in the hospital who has been sick since she was three years old. Miyuki also like magical girls so they become friends and play around the hospital until she falls down and gets hurt. Mii, playing as a magical girl, uses her magic to try and heal Miyuki. Apparently Mii didn't know she really has the power to heal people and Miyuki gets cured not only from her scratch, but her illness is completely cured.

So far the show has focused on one character an episode and the story hasn't really gone anywhere. Why they are searching for the popotan is still unclear, as is why the girls have certain powers. The show has a lot of detailed nudity during many of it's bath scenes which serve no real purpose other than to show some skin. Popotan is a fun, light-hearted show and if you're easlily entertained like I am, then you will enjoy it.
