Petite Princess Yucie vol. 6

Review
As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. And what an awesome ending it is.

With the fairy world in imminent danger, the girls go with Beth to rescue it from Diabolos. It's the most action packed episode in the series with some nice looking scenes as they battle the large dragon. Arc joins in the fight as well and together they are able to save the fairy world from darkness.

After graduating from the Princess Academy, Yucie finds that Arc suffered a critical injury during battle with Daibolos. Yucie's wish of becoming a grown up by using the power of the Eternal Tiara has now changed as the only thing she wants now is to see Arc live. The girls then go to take the final test and, surprisingly, the other girls forfeit their candidacy knowing how much Yucie wants to save Arc. However, Yucie is forced to make a tough choice. If she becomes the Platinum Princess, she will have her wish granted and save her world from future darkness like Daibolos, but her friends will vanish. On the other hand, if she saves her friends by refusing the Tiara, she won't get her wish and her world would eventually be overtaken by darkness.

The last two episodes played out a lot differently than I had expected, with much more emphasis on the five girls than on Yucie actually becoming the Platinum Princess. Over the course of the show I became very attatched to these characters, so for me these last couple of episodes were pretty emotional. The second to last episode does a really great job of showing just how much the characters have grown together, especially with Glenda, who gets some really well done scenes in here where she just shines. The ending really is about the characters with a lot of focus on them, but it also manages to answer all the questions that came up during the show, like why the girls haven't aged past ten years old. Overall, I was very pleased with the ending.

Petite Princess Yucie was such an incredible series for me, and a part of me is sad that I've reached the end, but it's something I will watch again and again in the years to come. For the most part, the show is just light-hearted fun, but I can truly say that I enjoyed every episode. It was a lot of fun seeing the girls dressed up in several different outfits over the course of 26 epsides for their different jobs, watching them fool around and poke fun at eachother, and reach their goals together. To top everything off, the animation is excellent and consistent from start to finish. Petite Princess Yucie is one of the best shows I've ever seen and I highly recommend it to fans of all ages. There is so much to enjoy here - don't pass this series up!
