Flame of Recca vol. 3

Review
Recca and gang continue to make their way through Kurei's mansion, getting into one fight after another. Tokiya, who holds the sword of water, Ensui, also catches up with Recca to help save Yanagi.

Domon gets his chance to show what he's made of when goes up against a powerful giant fighter. He tells everyone else to hold off and let him handle this one alone because he wants to give it his best, too. He is unable to defeat this giant relying on his own power, however, before they left to save Yanagi, Kagehoshi gave him a madogu, giving him much more strength, enabling him to win the fight.

Kurei explains to Recca a little about his past that he didn't know, that he was the one who gave him the scar on his cheek, and that he was also sent to the future, just like Recca was. Kurei's flame abilities are extrememly powerful, meaning Recca has a very little chance of deafeating him alone. Everyone tries to work together to defeat Kurei, but they still can't defeat him even as a team.

This show is really starting to feel dragged out seeing as they have been stuck in Kurei's mansion for so many episodes. The fight scenes here aren't all that exciting and are starting to feel too drawn out. I do like the cast, but I feel the show needs to put more focus on them instead of throwing them into so many fights.

Overall, the picture doesn't look as bad as it did on previous discs. Either that or I am just getting used to it.
