Review
Black Jack loses one of his patients because he couldn't figure out what is wrong with her and there doesn't seem to be any logical explanation as to what lead up to her death because she seemed perfectly healthy. He continues to receive anonymous phone calls from a woman who wants him to return her call, but he doesn't because she doesn't leave the proper information. Meanwhile, some Superhumans are making headlines by becoming gold medalists in the Olympics and breaking records like the world has never seen. Strangely, these Superhumans would lose their health shortly after.

The woman finally tracks down Black Jack's whereabouts and introduces herself as Jo Carol. She asks him to help her to research Superhumans, offering him any amount of money he would like, but he refuses. When she has Pinoco kidnapped, however, Black Jack has no choice but to accept Jo Carol's deal. He joins up with a team of doctors to find out what is causing all the Superhumans to lose their health and eventually their life at such a young age. This leads him to find out the answers behind the Superhumans, their cause of death, and the truth behind Jo Carol.

The film looks like it had the budget of an OVA because it doesn't have movie quality animation. The character designs and animation style give it an old school look. The movie also mixes in several stylized still shots with the animation.

The movie plays out in a fairly straightforward manner, but it kept me interested all the way through. Overall, it's an average film and probably not something I'd want to watch a second time.

Overall:
Marc Frost, 2005
Content

Language
Nothing.
Violence
There is one murder scene involving a gun. Patients cough up blood and it shows organs being cut during very graphic surgeries.
Sex
There is a scene where a doctor is operating on a young girl and it shows her chest, but it isn't detailed. Pinoco's skirt flies up a few times in the beginning revealing her underwear, but it's pretty innocent.
