Review Audio
I wasn't expecting Castle of Cagliostro to have such good music. It totally fits the situations that are happening on screen, it's great stuff. This is also one of those rare shows where the English dub actually surpasses the original Japanese. Now this may be because Castle of Cagliostro is an older title and the Japanese audio quality isn't as good as we normally expect, but this is still one of the best dubs I have ever heard.
Visuals
Castle of Cagliostro must have had some high production values when it was originally made because it looks great even now. The character designs are also excellent. I hope the rest of the Lupin universe has the same great artwork.
Story/Entertainment
I have always liked Hayao Miyazaki's works (Princess Mononoke, Kiki's delivery service), and this movie is no different. There were many times during this movie where I found myself laughing out loud. Castle of Cagliostro also has a good story that kept me interested to see what would happen in the end. If you have seen some of Miyazaki's other works, you have an idea of what the ending will be like, a satisfying conclusion that is left open-ended. Castle of Cagliostro is the only thing I have seen in the Lupin universe, but it definitely makes me want to see more. I highly recommend this movie for some excellent, clean fun.
