Summary
The Polstar Empire invades the earth by resurrecting dead, soulless warriors to conquer it. The only people capable of stopping it are those who belong to one of the four factions: E.G.O., Arayashiki, Wiz-Dom, and Darklore. With their combined powers they might just be able to stop this new enemy. |
Review
A young boy named Hokuto is gathering the most powerful fighters of the four different factions. He approaches most of them just after they display a use of their powers in battle and witness the death of a loved one. He offers to give them a chance at revenge for those they've lost and to finally make peace on earth.
The best thing about Aquarian Age: The Movie is that it is packed with action. The action scenes are awesome and give nice displays of each of the characters powers. There is also some fanservice during the combat revealing some of the girl's underwear on several occasions. The animation is attractive, although not quite up to par with some other high budget films, and manages to deliver some nice looking action scenes. There is also some CG used which looks average at best.
On the down side, the movie suffers from it's short length of just one hour, and comes to an end far too quickly. There really isn't enough time to develope the characters other than the short introduction they are given when Hokuto is recruiting them. These scenes were really neat and got me emotionally attatched to the characters, but once all is said and done it felt somewhat meaningless since it never really resolved the characters personal affairs. In the end I found the movie gratifying, with lots of action and nice visuals, even though it was short lived.
