Summary Hiroshi is in love with Marie, a girl at his college. He likes her so much that he creates an android version of her so he won't be lonely. Aside from her pink hair, she looks exactly like the Marie from school and Hiroshi even gives her the same name. |
Review My Dear Marie plays out in an episodic fashion and it doesn't really have an ending either. In the first episode both Marie's compete in a game of tennis. The Marie android that Hiroshi created wins the match and he scores a date with the real Marie. In the second episode we're introduced to Hibiki, a tough blonde-haired girl who falls in love with Hiroshi at first sight. She is mad at herself for falling for a geek like him, though. The last, and best, episode is about Marie's dreams. Hiroshi gives her a software program that allows her to dream at night which makes for some fun adventures.
Marie is a charming girl and highlight of the show. The series jumps right into things because she acts like a human right off the bat and doesn't need to be taught anything. Of course, Marie begins developing feelings for her creator. Hiroshi is an inventor with a geek personality, yet he comes accross as a rather good guy. Despite the show's short length, it works because it focuses on a very small cast.
Watching My Dear Marie puts me in a good mood and makes me chuckle once in awhile. It features good artwork and fluid animation. There is nudity and also some ecchi content used mostly for comedy purposes.
I had a good time watching My Dear Marie, it's a sweet little series with just enough heart and comedy and I wish there was more of it. A delightful title you should check out.
