I'm not a very big fan of jazz music, and Metropolis' soundtrack reminds me why. The music actually detracts from the show instead of adding to it. In some scenes it's just too overpowering and it gets annoying. At least the sound effects sound good. The dub is well performed and I didn't notice anyone that sounded awkward.

Visuals
The animation is extremely fluid and looks awesome. Unfortunately, there are a few things that don't look so good. 3D CG plays a big role in Metropolis. In some scenes it mixes good, but in others it looks out of place. I don't really like how the world of Metropolis looks either. The buildings have too many strange colors and some things look weird. A few of the character designs look ok, but the rest I don't like very much. And it doesn't help that some of them have goofy faces that don't match the serious tone of the movie.

Story/Entertainment
When I first started watching Metropolis, I thought it was a really boring movie. It did get a little better as I continued watching but it still comes across as very mediocre. Metropolis is a story about humans and robots living, or rather working, together. This type of storyline has been used before, but I don't mind because they usually turn out to be a fun show or have some insight into human life. The problem is that Metropolis doesn't really offer anything new or interesting. I think Metropolis would have been a better movie if the two main characters, Kenichi and Tima, had developed a better relationship. I also think that Tima doesn't receive enough screen time. Metropolis isn't all bad, I just think that it could have been so much better.
